My favorite place to go spend time in Tel Aviv is Sarona Market. One reason is because of its proximity to the building where we live. But more importantly, the market has everything you could ever want. From waffles piled with ice cream, to fried chicken, and everywhere in between, Sarona is a place that appeals to everyone. Originally a colon for German Templars close to 140 years ago, this land was a commerce and leisure area. However, in the 1930s, the Germans of the colony started supporting the Nazis. During the War, the British Government used the colony as a military base. In the years following the establishment of the State of Israel, the leaders of the country were housed here. It wasn't until 2014, that Sarona was restored and the market we know and love today was opened.

This week I spent my first Chanukkah in Israel. I bought my first Sufganiya in Israel in Sarona at a little kiosk. I love going to Sarona because of all the things that can be done there. You can buy food, kitchenware, tea, clothing, or even just sit and relax in one of the small parks that are there. I often just walk there with friends and don't buy anything. If you are looking for somewhere nice and fun to go that is in the heart of Tel Aviv, I would 100% recommend Sarona Market.
