Let's go to the Beach, Beach, Let's Go Catch a Wave

My favorite place to hang out in Tel Aviv is definitely the beach. Being raised in Texas and growing up in Maryland I didn’t get to see too many beaches, and the ones I did visit were always dirty, cold, and just not enjoyable. Coming here for the first time and experiencing a beautiful and pristine beach with warm water and the sun shining down on me was pretty life changing.

Before this I’d always hated the beach, now I can’t get enough of it. Walking from end to end to dry off after a nice dip, bobbing along and talking with friends in the waves, being too short to stand so I latch onto someone taller, occasionally dunking someone or being dunked into the water. Days on the beaches in Tel Aviv feel like they belong in the movies, and I am so grateful I get to experience them. The restaurant scene around the beach is pretty great too, with Mexicana, Shawarmamia, and Aroma right there, finding somewhere to cool off and grub out on a hot day is easy on our hearts and stomachs, but not always on our wallets.
