Shuk HaCarmel holds some of the best-hidden international gems of Tel-Aviv, acting as a home to many restaurants with food from all over but the best of all comes from Venezuela.

As you walk through the bustling market, you're greeted with smells from all over. Classics like shawarma and falafel, fresh fruits and vegetables, towers of spices, and apparently an Arepa stand?
For 35 shekel, you can get an arepa (pictured to the left) filled with a multitude of fillings like beef, chicken, cheese, and avocado. It's a small but mighty dish that'll leave you filled up for hours as you scour the market for fresh produce and middle eastern desserts.
In addition to the famous Shuk HaCarmel stand, Arepa's also has a secondary location in the vibrant neighborhood of Florentin! It's the perfect sit-down spot with friends to enjoy a nice meal together and like the stand in the Shuk, it'll keep you filled up for hours afterwards. Having never had an arepa before, I'd say I had no idea what I was missing until now. It's definitely worth it the try!
